Ian Cofré is an independent curator, writer, and translator based in Brooklyn, NY. He has taught at Pratt Institute and Rutgers University-Newark, and has lectured at art schools around the US and abroad. His writings have appeared in the Brooklyn Rail, artcritical.com, and Arte al Día, and he contributed an essay about William Lamson for the catalog, Wanderlust: Actions, Traces, Journeys 1967-2017. Profiles and reviews of exhibitions he has curated can be found in The Art Newspaper, Arte al Día International, The Wall Street Journal, and Billedkunst, among other publications. As a Curator-in-residence at Shine Portrait Studio, he works with Dr. Eva Giloi on the performance and exhibition cycle Newark Rhythms.
