Self Made: Newark’s Black Women Business Owners – Photo Exhibition
Self Made, a photojournalism project featuring Black women business owners in Newark’s South and West Wards, will present the images of photographer Tinnetta Bell. A magazine highlighting the women’s stories, and the role of small businesses in the revitalization of both wards, will also be for sale. Self Made celebrates the creativity and savvy of local entrepreneurs who maintain a deep connection to their communities. Bell, a SHINE Portrait Studio Community Partner, and Carrie Stetler, the project director and editor, are the recipients of an Express Newark Third Space grant. The event will include light refreshments, a guest speaker, and information on resources for aspiring entrepreneurs.
