  1. What are your rates?

Currently, Shine does not charge for access to the studio.

  1. Can I book on weekends?

Shine does not have weekend hours.

  1. Do you provide a photographer?

Shine does not provide photographers but can make recommendations based on client needs.

  1. What dates are available/how can I see what dates are available?

Please email us directly at shineportraitstudio@gmail.com with any questions or request. Once a date is

held with us, you must make a formal request through the Express Newark website.

  1. Do you provide cameras/lenses/flashes/etc?

We do provide a variety of equipment, contact us with specific requests.

  1. Do you do printing?

We do not provide printing services

  1. How do I know if my request has been approved?

You must log into the Express Newark Website reservations portal and check the status of your request.

  1. How do I reserve the space?

  1. How long can I reserve the space for?

We try to be as flexible as possible. We typically book in one to 7hr blocks.

  1. Can you let me know if/when there are last minute cancellations?

Unfortunately, we can not. Most cancelations are just prior to reserved time

  1. Are minors allowed onsite?

Minors are not allowed in Shine, this is a firm non-negotiable policy.

  1. Are food/drinks/alcohol allowed?

Yes, but upon prior approval, and payment of fees. No alcohol is allowed unless a Rutgers officer is present.

Costs associated with security are to be paid by the person making the reservation.

  1. Will there be someone onsite to assist me the day of my shoot?

Typically we can provide basic support and technical assistance.

  1. Can I do video here?

Yes, but we cannot make the studio a “black box”, interruptions are likely. Sound capture is problematic as

we have no control over mechanicals or interruptions.

  1. How far in advance do I have to make a reservation?

Typically 6-8 weeks in advance.

  1. What if I am running late or can’t come in at all?

Shine will hold reservations for 30 min. You must email us directly if you are running late.

Cancelations without notifying us via email may have an effect on future bookings.

  1. Can I reserve consecutive days/multiple dates?

Let us know your request, however Shine does its best to make the studio available to all.

multiple/ consecutive dates are taken into consideration on a project by project basis.
