Symphony of Survival – an Embrace Newark Initiative launches


With Newark Symphony Hall,  a dynamic creative project and archive of Black resistance showcasing both literary and visual arts by Newark area artists was unveiled this week.

Under the creative direction of poet Jasmine Mans, among the Newark-based contributors are Express Newark Partner (NewAnce)  Bimpe Fageyinbo,  and Paul Robeson Gallery’s Kristen J. Owens.

This archive is an evolving symphony of mourning, of protest, and of survival. This project was created in honor of George Floyd Breonna Taylor and the many others who have lost their lives to police brutality.
